Media Source HD Crew Filmed “The Michael Oher Exclusive” on “The Blind Side” Blu-ray

March 25, 2010

The Blu-ray and standard-def DVD versions of the popular film “The Blind Side” were released this week, and we were able to finally see the “Michael Oher Exclusive” that we filmed last summer here in Memphis. It’s part of the special features on the Blu-ray version of the film. The feature is described as a “rare interview with the pro footballer whose life the movie depicts.”

We filmed with a Los Angeles producer for two days, including a day of interviews at the Memphis home of Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, Michael Oher’s adoptive parents. We also shot some scenes on the University of Mississippi campus.

The Michael Oher interview includes our cover shots of North and South Memphis, as well as beauty shots of Vaught Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, MS, where the Ole Miss football team plays its home games.

These are the only shots associated with the film that are actual images of Memphis. The “Memphis” scenes in “The Blind Side” were actually shot in Atlanta.

We filmed the Michael Oher interview in the Tuohy’s home with our Panasonic HDX900 DVCPRO HD camera, and our HMI lighting. The Memphis and Oxford, MS b-roll was also shot with our HDX900.

We’re proud to have taken part in this project, and to have contributed images of Memphis and Oxford, MS that will now be seen worldwide.
